Semester 2, 2012
This course examines "a number of cultural tropes presented in popular cultural forms including the media, music, art and literature in order to develop a 'pedagogy of the popular'".
It explores a "range of prominent popular cultural forms ... in order to identify the nature of informal pedagogical practices, 'public pedagogies' and the possibilities of formal, school based pedagogies to transform the 'popular' as a site of emancipatory and participatory social practice."
